Outreach to Asia - The Details Are Coming Together

After the holidays we are planning to take a small team from our training school for a 4-5 week outreach in Asia (it is wise not to say just where on the internet). We are very excited about this; God has been sharing His heart with us for the people there. We are hoping to work in an orphanage, meet univerity students, do prayer walking, and possibly speak in churches. Our main focus will be working with an English language institute that has classes for high school and college aged students. We will be doing conversational English with students who already know enough English to understand a lot and get a message across, but need to improve their conversation skills. After class we will spend time with the students at restraunts, parks, shopping malls, and in their homes getting to know them. THIS will be the most awesome time when we can share the gospel with them. God is doing a new thing in Asia and people are hungry for the truth. Please pray for us as we prepare ourselves and our team to reach out to people with the gospel. Pray that He will prepare hearts to hear and respond to His call.

We need to buy plane tickets during the first week of December, coming up very soon. Our family will need between $3000 - $4000 for our 3 tickets, visas, and outreach expenses. God showed up at the Go Conference!

November 7, 2005


After 2 long days traveling on a school bus, and one night on a church floor, we finally arrived at the Go Conference...and God too showed up for the conference. Each day was filled with intense times of worship, intercession for the nations, feeling the love in God's heart for His people, challenging teaching, hearing His voice, fellowship with other missionaries, and a great excitement in our hearts over all that God was doing in us. Some words that characterize the week were:

Go!
Surrender
Love people
Transformation

Our students were stretched as they experienced the intensity of the conference for the first time. Being challenged to feel and pray out God's heart for the lost in nations of the world was a great experience for them. Each of them walked away with a greater understanding of God, His love for the nations, how they can be a part of it, and an awesome experience of worship and intercession.

God has been birthing in our hearts His dreams for other nations, and how we can play a part in His great work. As He leads, we will share in the future what we believe He is leading us to do. Just know that God is working in us, taking us to new levels of surrender, preparing us for the work He has for us down the road, molding our hearts to be like His more and more, and we are falling in love with Jesus more everyday.

Jeremiah had a fabulous time. There were children his age at the conference, the kids of other missionaries. He LOVED his friends there, and really misses them now. He loved riding on the bus (strange how grace works, huh?) and he just thrives on the high activity, busy, intense life that we had there. It is obvious that God has made him to thrive in the calling on our family! Praise God! He is good!
